Our Mission
The mission of the Stillwater County Library Foundation is to raise vital funds for capital improvements and the expansion of quality services, programs, and events offered by the Stillwater County Library.
Non-Profit Status
On March 8, 2023, Stillwater County Library Foundation (SCLF) was formed as a Montana nonprofit public benefit corporation. Though formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code (“IRC”) Section 501(c)(3), SCLF’s main focus is to raise vital funds for capital improvements and the expansion of quality services, programs, and events offered by the Stillwater County Library based in Columbus, Montana.
SCLF is recognized as a public charity by the IRS under IRC Section 170. The effective date of tax exemption is March 8, 2023. SCLF is qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.
SCLF is also recognized by the Montana Department of Revenue as a tax-exempt, non-profit organization under Montana law (15-31-102(1), MCA). Please contact us or visit the About section for more information.
